While you may never want to leave the beach, here are some great local spots to check out during your stay

Harrisville State Park
If you want to get out and explore nature, the Harrisville State Park is open year round and has plenty of trails to enjoy. Established in 1921, it is one of Michigan's oldest state parks with a two-mile trek hiking trail as well as non-groomed cross-country trails, a metal detecting area and a bicycle rental program. The trail is a three-quarter mile, paved multi-use trail leading out of the park, which connects to the remainder of the trail leading into the town of Harrisville.

Hollyhock Emporium
On Main Street in downtown Harrisville, the Hollyhock Emporium is a great gift shop and thrift store. Home to numerous local vendors, you're sure to find an up north gift for your friends back at home or a nice reminder of your time on Michigan's Sunrise Coast.

Great local donuts
Make sure to visit our friends at Cedar Lake Grocery for the best donuts north of the Zilwaukee bridge. Made fresh, they are a real treat!

Shotmakers
One of our favorites for a quick lunch or homemade dinner, Shotmakers Bar & Grill has an extensive menu with something for everyone and ice cold beer.

The Big Dipper
No vacation is complete with a stop at an ice cream store. Located just up the road in Harrisville, the Big Dipper has a great selection of flavors.

The Red Fork
You can't go wrong with any meal at the Red Fork, but we especially love it for breakfast. Located just a few minutes down the road from us in Greenbush, we love their scratch made food and great service.

Alcona Coffee Company
Owned and operated with the Big Dipper Ice Cream, Alcona Coffee Company gives us that pickup we need when we're away from our home baristas.

Alcona Brew Haus
We firmly believe that Michigan has the best local beer in the country, and Alcona Brew Haus just adds to that. Local beer, pizza, and burgers. Enuff Said!

Rosa's Lookout Inn
About 30 minutes north, Rosa's Lookout Inn has some of the best Italian food you'll find. Great for a celebration or just a really good meal.
