Meet the Owners

We are four families who purchased this gem of northern Michigan with the goal of restoring it to its former glory and preserving it as a place where our families and yours will be able to create cherished memories for generations to come. We took over as the new management just in time for the 2022 season.  Little did we know all the quirks that would go into buying a 1940's resort!

In our first season we quickly realized the resort needed some TLC to best serve our guests.  Within the first three weeks of ownership we painted almost all the units, replaced all bedding, installed a new start-of-the-art water filtration system, refreshed the beach and landscaping, and bought new grills for each unit.  The tube TV's in each unit had served their purpose at the time, but we knew they had to be replaced with new smart TV's, which also meant new high speed WiFi connections for the entire resort. We also installed smart locks on each cottage, allowing for contactless check-in (and no need for guests to keep track of keys or worry about getting locked out). This was all in three weeks before we even took our first reservation!

After the 2022 season, we started our second phase of renovations right away.  We removed the carpet in all 14 cottages and replaced it with luxury vinyl, gutted and replaced many of the showers, installed brand new storm doors, and upgraded the the electrical on the north side.

We're not done with upgrades and will continue to invest in Blue Haven each season.  You can follow our journey on social media as we post about changes (both big and small) that you will see at the resort.

Finally, we want to say thank you.  We are the current stewards of Blue Haven and we know how special it has been to many of you.  There's nothing we love more than hanging out at the beach with a guest and hearing about how much your family loves to visit our little piece of northern Michigan, or having a happy hour for the resort and talking about what brought you here for your first visit this year.  The Blue Haven is special because of the guests that join us, and we can't wait to see you soon!
